After minor fixes, we continue our calculations today. The WUs of this second phase increase the required CPU time due to a higher number of iterations (now 15 minutes), and they reach a quite broader range of the solution space.

Out of curiosity, how much longer do you think this phase, and the project as a whole, will take to complete at the current crunching rate?

        Al.

          Hi Al.

This set has 678699 WU to solve, and currently we are in the 360000's, more or less. This should give us work for a week more, approximately. Analysing the data will take several weeks, and then I'd like to produce a new model with better fitting. Hard to say, but we will have work to crunch intermittently at least until the end of this year, when I expect Meningococo@Home to begin.

Thanks for the quick reply Javier. I'll leave half a dozen machines on this project until it runs dry :)

Looking forward to your new project also!

            Al.

                Hi Javier.

When the current batch runs out is that the end of this specific project or just the end of this phase of THIS project?

Us crunchers have to plan ya know lol.

                Grazi.

The end of the batch means the end of the phase. The project is not going to end but to be continued with further model refinements. I'd like this to keep going at least for the next months.
