A set of wrong WU has been found to produce the worker to never end calculations. We have cancelled all the faulty WU, so if you detect you have one of these (with names "Prueba290000" to "Prueba299999") please cancel it and update to take fresh WU.

Last time I checked, world isn't perfect, at least not my world.

All the more work for me :)

Don't sweat it, it's JABP (Just Another BOINC Project). Nobody died (although I didn't actually check).

Sure, it's always annoying to waste electricity, but believe me, this project has run much more smoothly than many others I've wasted *weeks* of time on. This glitch only cost me about 36 host-hours. Luxury! :)

          Al.

It wasn't enough to abort the offending WUs from BOINC Manager. I had to go into System Monitor and kill the WU processes as well. It would be a good idea for people running this project to make sure there are no Ideologias worker_... processes with unusually long CPU Times listed in System Monitor > Processes. Unfortunately, three of these WUs ran for about 24h on my machine before I noticed. (This is a dedicated BOINC machine and not my everyday work computer.)

Things seem to be working fine now, thankfully. :)

Andrew, this is a new project in beta status. Errors and problems like this happen sometimes, even to established projects like SETI@Home. If you expect perfection, you will be disappointed no matter where you look.

this project screwed up so badly that i'm not even giving it a second chance to mess around with my other projects that are running.

It is about perfection if you expect that the people behind this project will catch every error before the WUs go out. Some bugs are minor, and some are major, but it's not like the never-ending WU bug Ideologias just experienced had a giant neon sign above it, and the people running this project are blind or incompetent.

A batch of bad WUs went out, the problem was spotted quickly and those WUs canceled. You lost some core-hours of work on a single computer. It's not the end of the world. I've seen this exact same problem on numerous projects including the well established Docking@home and Rosetta@home. (The fact that you're attached to Rosetta's alpha test project Ralph@home is ironic, under the circumstances.)

Obviously you're free to detach if that's your wish.

So you've never met DNETC or MW or SETI or GPUgrid with their false ATI gpu promises.

Not to mention the Moo dual GPU issues.

Good morning, wakey wakey, coffee's on.....go smell it.

                  Happy crunching....wherever lol.

Unfortunately, this BOINCer has failed to fully read and comprehend the project documentation and forum posts. Checking his BOINC stats reveals that this member is very new to BOINC and has very little exposure or experience in these matters and subsequently has unrealistic expectations. Hopefully in future he will be more circumspect about joining brand new projects, reading documentation and managing his own expectations.

Humbly, I remember learning these lessons when BOINC was in its infancy and I had this unrealistic expectation that by the time any BOINC project appeared on the web it would already have been through alpha and beta. With great relief I learned the reality quickly and have been able to contribute constructively to many many projects (104 to date >toots own horn< :P ).

Sadly this BOINCer has not realized this opportunity today.
                    Perhaps tomorrow or soon.
                    Every new BOINCer helps.

In the mean time ... CAN I HAVE ALL OF HIS WUs, PLEASE ? CAN I ? HUH ? HUH ? HUH ?
                    LOL :-) j/k

Thank you for your continued close monitoring of your project, the feedback in the forums and your quick response to issues. It is well appreciated.

                    Hola.

You said you were quitting the project yesterday. Fine. Your choice, obviously. So why are you still here a day later, complaining, wasting both your time and ours?
